Carol Temkin has been a studio potter and teacher since 1972. She received her Master's Degree
from the University of Wisconsin. Carol specializes in decorative, functional, hand-thrown
porcelain, chacterized by its colorful glazes in shades of turquoise, lavender or blue, with
strong brilliant accents. Many of these glazing effects were developed by her in her studio
and are unique to her work. Carol believes, "Functional pottery combines a visual-aesthetic
experience with a physical-sensual one."
Carol Temkin has exhibited her work in museums and galleries throughout the United States.
She is Associate Director of The Potters Schop, where she maintains her studio and also
serves as Director of The Potters School.
